Caesarean section is the most frequently performed routine operation in obstetrics. In the field of gynaecology, the most frequently performed operations are minor procedures (curettage, hysteroscopy, conisation, etc.). Many operations on fallopian tubes or ovaries can be performed by laparoscopy. Operations on or the removal of the uterus can be done from the vagina or by abdominal incision.
