One of the tasks of urology is the diagnosis and therapy of urinary tract infections. The spectrum ranges from urethritisto (recurrent) bladder infections, including so-called interstitial cystitis and inflammatory infections of the kidneys. In men, inflammation of the prostate (prostatitis) and epididymitis and testicular inflammation can occur. Appropriate diagnostics and therapy is necessary.
