In addition to the care of neurological inpatients and medical consulting, work in the neurological outpatient department, in ultrasound diagnostics of the brain-supplying arteries, management of the sleep laboratory in the hospital KH der Barmherzigen Brüder, work in the sleep clinic, in the EEG diagnostics and the MS-clinic. (KH der Barmherzigen Brüder) In addition to the treatment of patients with general neurological problems, I am particularly interested and experienced in the clarification and treatment of patients with head/facial pain, (epileptic) seizures and sleep disorders.
After completing my medical studies (doctorate 1990) and partly even during my studies of psychology (graduation 1995), I completed the intern training as a general practitioner at the hospital Wilhelminenspital and the neurological hospital Rosenhügel. I started the training as a specialist for neurology at the rehabilitation centre of the Unfallkrankenhaus Meidling der AUVA, continued with my minor subject psychiatry at the PSD and then worked at the neurological university clinic of the AKH. Since 2002 I have been working at the hospital KH der Barmherzigen Brüder Vienna at the neurological department under the direction of Prof. Wilfried Lang. In addition to the professional training mentioned above, I was involved as first and co-author in various studies and scientific works on the subjects of sleep and dream research, effects of oriental music therapy on patients with severe brain damage and impacts of electromagnetic fields (so-called mobile phone radiation) on health.
Due to my decades of work in the field of neurology, I have acquired extensive experience in the areas of sleep medicine (management of the sleep laboratory KH der Barmherzigen Brüder Vienna), neurorehabilitation as well as clarification and treatment of neurological patients in the ambulatory and stationary area.
